    “Bath mat was disgusting so didn't use.”

    Covered in loads of mould. Not good with 5 year old. Also no banister on stairs isn't good for young children. Frying pan was burnt when we went to use it. Think more age of stuff. We really enjoyed our stay and want to come back as perfect location and loved our stay. We realised that was just case of few things just needing to be replaced.

    Hi Amy, Thanks for your feedback. We encourage all our guests to report anything they are unhappy with during their stay. A new bath mat and frying pan would have been replaced straight away. We are going ourselves at the weekend so will have a full review of what needs replacing. It will be done straight away. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the excellent location. Granary Nook is delightful property located in the heart of Windermere, and is an ideal base for families who are looking for a central base from which to explore the southern Lakes. The village boasts a wide variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and visitor attractions there is quite literally something for everyone. Windermere has many charms and attractions, located only a mile away from the popular village of Bowness on Windermere with its steamers and Beatrix Potter attractions. Windermere is a much quieter village and has an abundance of unique shops, tea rooms and restaurants, the train station and main bus route running through means you can leave your car behind whilst exploring the surrounding area. Troutbeck Bridge is 3 miles away with its own swimming pool and Brockhole Adventure Park which is ideal for children and adults alike, a further 15 minute drive brings you to Grasmere, the home of Grasmere Gingerbread and William Wordsworth. Located in the heart of Windermere village Granary Nook is a traditional stone built cottage and is ideally located to enjoy all of the village amenities. Granary Nook is set back of the main street and has a large enclosed courtyard perfect for relaxing in after a long day on the fells. The cottage is gas centrally heated and comprises: Lounge with TV and DVD player. Kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and dining area. First floor: Master zip link double bedroom. Double bedroom. Second floor: Children's twin bedroom. Large bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC. All gas, electric, towels and bed linen are included. Parking permit for on street parking is available. Large courtyard garden with garden furniture. Wi-Fi now available. Highchair available. Sorry there is no cot however you are welcome to bring your own or hire one from Lakes Cottage Holidays.

Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 8.7 miles.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.
