Terrible letting company and dreadful service from both Sykes and the property owner. Stole £300 from my bank account despite my asking them not to and tried to demand a further 200+ for an allegedly scratched stove. How could an expensive induction hob be scratched by cookware and cleaning provisions provided with the property? Owner unpleasant to deal with and Sykes completely unhelpful. Would discourage anyone from risking using either.

However, the rest of your review is totally inaccurate. No one stole money from your bank account. You damaged our Aga hob beyond repair, and did not even mention an incident. I had to order a new one to replace it. As I said to you, I could not continue to operate a luxury property with a significantly damaged hob for future guests. The 2 induction hobs I have in my properties have been trouble free for 15 years and 2 years without any incident, so I have no idea how you could have done this. The cost to me far exceeded the £300 good housekeeping bond which you had agreed with Sykes at the time of booking.
In over 20 years of being a holiday let host, with 2 luxury properties, this is only the 2nd time I have ever had to request that the bond is used (the other was theft). I have sent photos and videos and the order and invoice I had placed with Aga as evidence to Sykes, which as you did not like the response they gave you, you decided to address to me directly. Despite your threats, I explained to you, professionally, with evidence, why your bond had been used. I was at no time unpleasant.
