Of course, this is only my opinion, and that of my son's, as he agreed with my thoughts.
It is obvious that the owners have spent a lot of money renovating the property to a high standard. All of the bathrooms (in particular) and kitchen are very nice and of a high quality, as are the beds and the bedding. However, we feel that other aspects of the cottage detract from what would have been an overall 5-star stay, with the quality of the following fittings not matching the quality of the fixtures:
The towels. The chests of drawers and bedside cabinets. The microwave.
You may feel that we are being picky, but we genuinely are trying to be helpful.
We had a fabulous stay and particularly enjoyed sitting in the garden in the mornings and late afternoons/early evenings, following our days in the hills. We were blessed with amazing weather!
We would certainly love to return.

It is very pleasing to know you ‘had a fabulous stay’ at Rowanberry Cottage and that the garden was also a source of pleasure ‘in the mornings and late afternoons/early evenings’. It is also gratifying to know you deem the renovations to be of ‘a high standard’, and that you have identified other high-quality aspects. The potential improvements you itemise have been noted and will be carefully considered. Hopefully, you will return to Rowanberry Cottage and continue to enjoy the fells of Lakeland.
