“Brantfell is a lovely property however maintenance as stated as being done before arrivals in the info folder had not been done as unfortunately the washing machine was broken.”

We had 3 children with us with special needs and one of the main reasons we choose a property is a washer/dryer.....it is an essential as we can never pack the amount of clothes needed for the children. We did not arrive until late as it took us nearly 9 hours (the journey is normally just over 2) to get there due to an overturned lorry on the motorway so we missed the first evening. I rang Sykes when we discovered the machine was broken but unfortunately it would seem the part did not arrive ...

I rang Sykes when we discovered the machine was broken but unfortunately it would seem the part did not arrive. We ended up having to hand washing every item needed and leaving it to drip dry outside. There is a worn leather chair in the living room covered with a seat cover (that does not fit) and all the bits that were coming off it were in a pile underneath it. We only discovered it because our little DS boy decided it might taste nice! The front bedroom also had a little pile of flaking paint on the floor where the wooden chair has hit against the wall. Basically the lodge looked like it had been giving a light go through as the skirting boards were dirty and the top of the bathroom cabinet had definately not been touched in a long time. I'm sorry to leave this review as overall Brantfell was a lovely roomy place with a beautiful garden, close to everything needed but with 3 children we have no time to stand washing, cleaning and vacuuming whilst trying to enjoy a holiday. A good deep clean in the downstairs bedrooms mainly would do it the world of good and we would definately return if this was rectified.
