Cleanliness was pretty good but not exceptional which is slightly baffling when checkout time has been shortened and check in time extended to provide more time for a “deep” clean to be carried out during these unsettling times of the Covid epidemic. Little things such as light bulbs not working and a lack of matching cutlery/crockery is frustrating when you are paying in excess of £800 per week for the accommodation. The en-suite shower was poor in terms of water flow but the shower in the second bathroom was ok. If you are a light sleeper you would struggle to sleep in the twin bedded room because of light pollution from the outside security lighting. This could be easily sorted with black out curtains.
In summary little things take the gloss of this accommodation and these could be easily corrected. I would not rule out staying at Gillybeck again but I think it is overpriced, with a little bit more attention to detail it could be improved noticeably
