However, the breadknife was missing and this caused quite a problem on the first morning as we brought full loaves of homemade bread. Ringing Sykes is a waste of time as after four attempts over two separate days, nobody replied. There was no washing-up bowl, we bought one and left it for future users. We had problems with the iron (fuse gone, no suitable replacement); the front door lock as it was often difficult to get it to unlock on return & the " Smart" TV as the Grundig box would not turn on and our idea of Smart is quick access to YouTube, Netflix, Spotify etc. My opinion is that there is not enough play space for young children to play with all the furniture in the living room, I think one dining table would be enough, rather than one in the kitchen and one in the living room. Great bedrooms and bathrooms and no problems with WiFi. Neighbours ok, parking good, fine walks in the woods behind the houses. Oven good, maybe a new frying pan would be appreciated by visitors. I think that if Sykes would offer good customer service, I would give 4 stars.
Hello Richard, the bread knife was in the 5 knife block from John Lewis - I can send photos. The property is not designed to have play pens for very young children, there is no smart TV , there are no special TV subscriptions - because of cost . You can find these in local hotels though. The property has good WiFi as you know - so you can use your own subscriptions on your own devices. Fire regs don’t allow me to make one room of lounge and kitchen- hence 2 tables Richard. Apologies for push back but just wanted to level out the feedback. No washing up bowl by design because of hygiene issues and the fact there is a functioning dishwasher.
