Beds comfortable. But generally house was tired and in our opinion overdue for a serious freshening up. Lounge not big enough, or enough furniture for 8 in it's present configuration. Interesting that a certificate on the wall showed a rating by Visit England dated 2018/19.....think it may struggle in its current condition. The garden was great for children, but caution, there is a very low wall at the bottom with a fair drop on the other side into sheep field. Part of the side wall had collapsed and was left in a dangerous state, more collapsed with one of our little ones nearby! Long grass around the fallen rubble indicated it had been like this for some time. Reported to cleaner, but no response. Left without kettle for 2 days, was told by Sykes that it was owner managed and message left....frustrating commu ication problem here.
Paying £2,200 for the week, expected better, and would have thought we qualified for a simple welcome pack!
The Lakes was in prime autumnal condition, fells, landscape, lakes, mountain passes etc, lit up by daily autumn sun.....stunning, we were lucky. Views from the garden were lovely. Great week with wider family group.
