    “Perfect central apartment.”

    Just a few minutes walk into the centre of Keswick. Apartment was well equipped, warm and cosy. Shower was best we have come across. Slight noise from upstairs but not as bad as we were expecting. Free car parking space was a bonus. It meant we could explore the area without having to use the car. Would love to stay again if given the opportunity.

Conveniently located in the heart of the Lake District National Park in the popular town of Keswick is this ground-floor accomodation, Carlton House Apartment 1 with its own allocated parking space. Decorated with a neutral décor and home to a Smart TV and all the appliances you may need for a self-catering stay, this holiday apartment is a fantastic base from which to explore a wealth of delights the Lakes have to offer. On arrival, take two steps up in to the building, before making your way into the apartment; following a long corridor to the end, the sitting room invites you to kick-back and relax with a film. As you grow hungry, move through to the kitchen/diner to whip up your dinner; a handy dishwasher completes the space, helping to clean up after catching up at the dining table. Get some rest ahead of a day of walking in one of two bedrooms, a king-size and a twin, before waking up to a refreshing shower or long soak to start the day. Start your day with a hearty breakfast before a stroll around Hope Park, or for the hikers of your group, explore the surrounding hills; you cab even see Skiddaw from the apartment on a clear day! If you're looking for watersports, Derwent Water has a range of activities, while for indoor fun, why not enjoy a mind-bending experience at Puzzling Place or a taste of local history at Keswick Museum. Heading south, the quaint town of Ambleside makes a lovely day out with a fantastic selection of pubs and eateries to enjoy in the area, with Rydal Cave en-route and the northern point of Lake Windermere within walking distance. The National Trust's Wray Castle and Hill Top, as well as an abundance of walking and cycling routes, and charming towns and villages mean you will not be short of ways to spend your time. The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
