    “We had a wonderful stay at whiteside, everything we could possibly need was provided.”

    Perfect location for Whinlatter, Buttermere, crummock water and Loweswater and all the surrounding fells. Ladyside pike is a lovely walk from the front door. A folder with info on local area would have been useful and we only found cushions for the outdoor furniture on the morning we left (it's in the coffee table).

The property

Keswick 7 miles. Cockermouth 5 miles. Overlooking the rolling hills of the Lake District National Park, in the village of High Lorton inbetween Keswick and Cockermouth is Whiteside, a fabulous, single-storey lodge. Nestled within a prime location to enjoy the delights of the Lakes, Whiteside is complete with off-road parking, a private veranda, and an open-plan living space, making it a fabulous base for a group of four guests and their four-legged friends. Park up and unload your belongings, making your way up to the lodge. Be welcomed into the open-plan living space, complete with a well-equipped kitchen, a dining table for four, and plenty of plush seating to unwind upon. Step outside to make the most of your lovely surroundings, set the picnic bench, and take in the views with a glass of wine in hand. The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
