“I should start this with the context that we had terrible weather (not your fault!”
) and I also got food poisoning (lunch at the Britania Inn seems to have been the culprit), so it wasn't exactly the most enjoyable week spent at the Lodge.
Listing references "2.5 acres of land to roam in", not sure where that 2.5 acres is as the fenced off garden at the lodge is nothing like that big. There was a paddock type field next to the lodge, but I didn't see any info in the lodge to hint that it was land that we could use.
Listing also references the lodge to be "A true Lake District hideaway". I suspect that was written before the absolutely huge house was built right next to the Lodge, which overlooks the whole of the house.
We agree with the other published feedback re. sofas in the lounge. They're really not very comfortable and definntely not when your watching the TV which is set high on the wall [unfortunately due to weather and illness I did a lot of TV watching :( ]. Lighting in the lounge was a bit binary as well, very bright with the main ceiling lights on, and only two standard lamps as the alternative. Dimmer on the main lights would have been nice.
General quality of the Lodge was very good, but there were a couple of things that need some attention ... one of the curtain rail brackets in the living room was close to pulling away from the wall, and similarly, one of the raidator brackets in the shared upstairs bathroom was coming away from the wall. The back door also stuck, probably due to the very wet weather, it needed quite a nudge to get it open.
