Adventure Peaks

Adventure Peaks Worldwide Mountaineering not only sells a wide variety of world-renowned clothing brands like Berghaus EXTEM, Rab, Millet and Montane, but they also offer walking and climbing expeditions and courses.

As well as clothing, Adventure Peaks, which is located in Ambleside, boasts one of the best selections of trekking boots in the UK. The friendly staff are very knowledgeable and whether you are trekking in the Lake District or are summiting Everest there is something for walkers of all ages and abilities.

Packhorse Court

Packhorse Court is a pedestrianised shopping area in Keswick and is full of speciality shops – all of the shops and cafes are independently owned making it the place for speciality shopping.

Originally a burgage plot dating back to medieval times, the courtyard that shoppers see today was once an enclosure for horses, workshops and other facilities.

1. The Cheese Delicatessen: offers shoppers a selection of over 90 cheeses, including a range of ewes and goats milk cheeses (great for allergy sufferers). They also stock a selection of olives, peppers, chutneys and biscuits.

This family-run business has been running since November 2014 and is based in Kendal in the South Lakes.

Antiques, collectibles and vintage pieces are all on offer and if you find something that you couldn’t carry during your holiday you can get it delivered to your home.

Ye Olde Friars

Ye Olde Friars was established way back in 1927 and still remains in the same family to this day.

Their shops in Keswick and Ambleside sell a variety of chocolates (both loose and boxed), buttery shortbread, unusual chutneys and mustards, honey and jams and a range of different gift ideas for every season.

At Easter, Halloween and Christmas the stores sell a wide variety of decorations and chocolate treats.
