“Had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful cottage, it was lovely and clean.”

We found this cottage perfect for the 2 of us with a dog. Would highly recommend if wanting to stay at a beautiful place close to Windermere.

The property

Hazelrigg Cottage, an inviting, semi-detached property, is nestled on the outskirts of Newby Bridge, Cumbria. Renovated to an excellent standard, this country escape is ideal for a family of four looking to getaway to this Cumbria region. After a day of fell walking, kick off your boots and get the woodburner roaring before slumping on the sofa. Tune into the Smart TV and watch a movie or move into the kitchen and start thinking about dinner, utilising a range of integrated appliances. Serve up at the dining table or take the evening outside and catch the last of the sun from the bistro table and chairs. As you plan for the next adventure, pop on the washer/dryer on a spin before washing away the day in the bathroom or shower room. The bedrooms are furnished with king size beds and with one situated on each floor then the bathroom and shower room can become en-suites. Venture into Newby Bridge and treat yourself to a pamper at the Swan Hotel and Spa; unwind with a soak in the hot tub or treat yourself to a glass of bubbly and enjoy stunning fellside views. Stroll along the River Leven up to Windermere where you can catch a boat trip across the water, or why not try your hand at kayaking or stand-up paddle boarding? Be sure to visit the bustling town of Bowness, home to a great array of attractions including The Old Laundry Theatre and the world-renowned World of Beatrix Potter Attraction. Further afield, Ambleside and Hawskhead have lots to offer, whilst the mountainous Scafell Pike will appeal to those seeking a challenge. Enjoy a jam-packed escape to the Lakelands at Hazelrigg Cottage.

About the location

NEWBY BRIDGE

Bowness-on-Windermere 8 miles.

The small village of Newby Bridge takes its name from the five arched stone bridge built in 1651 over the River Leven. The famous Furness Railway, one of Britain's oldest working standard gauge steam railways, runs between Haverthwaite and Newby Bridge. Visit the Lakeside Hotels and enjoy magnificent views across Windermere and the surrounding fells, or enjoy the Aquarium of the Lakes, where the naturally themed habitats, bring the history of the Lakes vividly to life. Bowness-on-Windermere provides a lovely day out, plus the picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter, and admire the views at nearby Gummer's How.
