“We had an absolutely delightful experience staying at Caroline and John's Shepherd's Hut.”

The hut itself exceeded our expectations, boasting a charming ambiance and coziness. Its picturesque setting, right next to a vast stretch of beach, was idyllic. Witnessing the dramatic tidal changes was mesmerizing - from expansive wet sands in the morning to a submerged beach by the afternoon. The hut was equipped with everything we needed, including continuous hot water and all the essentials for cooking our meals. Caroline and John were exceptional hosts, offering warmth and assistance throughout our stay. Caroline's homemade cakes were a delightful bonus. Our time there was thoroughly enjoyable, and we left with a tinge of sadness, already looking to return for another visit!

Thank you so very much for your lovely feedback and we are both so pleased that you had such a good stay with us. The hut is very much "our baby" and we always wanted it to be a real home from home experience for our guests so even more pleased that you liked it so much. The scenery on the beach does indeed change every single day and we feel really privileged to live here. We very much look forward to welcoming you both back and thank you so very much once again. The property

Nestled on the edge of the medieval hamlet of Aldingham, is the charming Seashore Shepherds Hut at Moat Farm. Seashore Shepherds Hut sits just 30 yards away from a beautiful, secluded beach, and is six miles away from the historic market town of Ulverston, which boasts a labyrinth of cobbled streets, Artisan shops and hosts several annual festivals including the famous Dickensian Festival in November, and Windermere is only 45 minutes away. The hut offers a ground-floor and open-plan living space, alongside the most spectacular views over Morecambe Bay to the Yorkshire Hills beyond. Seashore Shepherds Hut was built in August 2021 by the owners local Blacksmith to a very high specification, and is a perfect retreat for a couple who may simply wish to share a romantic getaway. It would also be a fantastic base for the more adventurous who can windsurf or kayak, virtually from the front door they could also be romantic as well. Pulling up you will spot the picturesque blue hut below the car parking space, which contains a lovely open-plan space with a double bed, dining space for two and a well-equipped kitchen area. Seashore Shepherds Hut has been kitted out perfectly, making it a charming space for settling down with the Smart TV and electric fire after a long walk along the coast from the hut to Bardsea approximately 5 miles. There is also an inbuilt shower room with basin, WC and a walk-in shower where you can freshen up for the day. Stepping outside, you can fully take in the spectacular sea view from the outdoor furniture, with a fire pit. Set within the private grounds of the historic Moat Farm (dating back to 1189 when William the Conqueror leased the land to the local Baron Le Flemming) it also has lovely views over the owner's orchard, where Stan and Ollie, the owners goats patrol (Stan Laurel, not the goat was born in Ulverston). Although Moat Farm ceased to be a working farm over 20 years ago, the owners run a hot food takeaway service cooking delicious locally sourced brisket burgers, sausage burgers, bacon buns, tea, coffees, Lakes ice cream, homemade cake and their famous “proper chips”. Seashore Shepherds Hut is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle, spend time with a loved one and enjoy the outdoors.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
