This romantic retreat is set solely on the ground floor and has a beautiful open plan living space with original beams, a fabulous kitchen and a cosy, stylish sitting area with patio doors leading to a lovely patio. This cottage is a real delight, retaining much of the character of the original building, enhanced by the modern and well-thought out styling employed by the current owners. Settle outside on the spacious patio on sunny afternoons, enjoy a barbecue together, or simply relax and enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple before taking a short walk around the village. Visit the village pub which is just a ten minute walk away from the cottage. An abundance of pretty walks and cycle routes are available right from the doorstep, whilst the nearby medieval Devil's Bridge at Kirkby Lonsdale and the Lune Valley, a favourite haunt of the artist Turner, are well worth a visit. Lancaster and Kendal are also easily accessed and there are fantastic fishing and riding opportunities nearby, together with a choice of golf courses. Windermere and Ambleside are a short drive away and the pretty villages of Arnside, Sedbergh and Settle provide excellent days out. This quality cottage is an ideal getaway for exploring this beautiful area, at any time of year.

A small, traditional Cumbrian village set in beautiful countryside and ideally placed for exploring Southern Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales and the peaceful Forest of Bowland. The village has a Post Office/general store, a butcher and a pub that serves good food. It lies 7 miles from the lovely old market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, and 12 miles from Kendal, the gateway to the Lake District. There is easy access to many areas of interest, with the historic city of Lancaster and the seaside resorts of Morecambe and Blackpool all within easy reach. The acclaimed RSPB wildfowl reserve of Leighton Moss is only 4 miles away, while Morecambe Bay is also famous for birdwatching. Other locations well worth a visit are the villages of Silverdale and Arnside (overlooking the beautiful Kent Estuary), Ingleton, Settle and Clapham. Levens Hall (famous topiary) and medieval Sizergh Castle with a beautiful garden are nearby. Good pubs and restaurants are also abound in the area. There is plenty of good walking nearby, and golf, fishing and riding are all available locally.
