The property

The lasting impression of this welcoming first floor apartment for two will be of the wonderful sound of the waters of Stock Ghyll Beck as they tumble past below the property. This enjoyable location is handy for Ambleside's restaurants, pubs and excellent local shops. Walks abound in the area whilst all parts of the National Park are easily accessible for touring. Ambleside has plenty to keep you entertained - a four-screen cinema, good bowling greens and tennis, mini golf, an interesting local museum and lake cruises on England's longest lake. Accommodation: Shared internal staircase to first floor level. Entrance hallway with cupboard for your outdoor gear. The sitting/dining room is very attractive with two windows overlooking the river down below (Freeview TV Player with I-Players, Internet radio, DVD and free Wi-Fi). Modern fitted kitchen. The bedroom is a double with king-size bed and it also has a window overlooking the river. The fully fitted bathroom has bath with shower over, basin and wc. The apartment has fitted carpets throughout and gas central heating. This is a good place to stay in any season. Furnishings are comfortable - traditional with a modern feel. Outside: Private parking for one car in a named space. Private parking for one car (height restriction 1.95m) and other visitor parking onsite.

About the location

Windermere 4 miles; Grasmere 4 mile; Keswick 15 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
