If you are looking for a great place to enjoy a walking holiday amongst the high fells of the northern Lake District Derwent Cottage could be the place for you. Nestled on the slopes of Blencathra and just over half a mile from Threlkeld, Derwent Cottage makes a fine spot to bring the dog and explore some of the finest footpaths in the area. Threlkeld has two good pubs The Horse and Farrier being very popular whilst nearby Keswick is perfect for shopping, evening entertainments and lake cruises. Derwent Cottage is one of four properties at the Blencathra Field Studies Council, the others are Borrowdale, Latrigg Cottage and Castlerigg. All offering amazing views and the perfect place to hike through the Northern Lakes. These properties are great for the active and offer a warm and comfortable base. Blencathra Centre was Cumbria Tourism Sustainable business of the Year 2016 and has achieved the Gold Award for Green Tourism.
