“Excellent apartment with outstanding views across Lake Windermere as it's greatest attraction.”

Provision of large fan much appreciated for when the sun shone. Lovely little balcony to enjoy the view from wicker chairs provided, with a glass of wine in hand. The apartment is well appointed with everything anyone would need and very comfortable and clean. The only downside is the parking bay provided is very tight to access with 4 pillars to navigate. We would however be very happy to return here.

Thanks for the wonderful review, if you feel the parking space is a bit tight, you could use the visitor bays which don't have posts. Property Owner

The property

Our properties in Romney Grange are justifiably popular and we are sure Lakeland View will be the venue for many happy visits for our clients. This rather special top floor apartment for two overlooks Lake Windermere at Waterhead with its ever-changing scene of boats at their moorings and the comings and goings on the steamer pier against a panoramic backdrop of fells and distant mountain tops. If you can tear yourself away from the view you will be delighted with the choice of restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops all within walking distance. Lake cruises begin across the road and there are numerous walks to be done from the door. Accommodation: Security entry system and access to the top floor by stairs or lift. Entrance hall leading through to the stylish open plan sitting/dining room and kitchen (32 inch HD TV with Freeview , DVD, free Wi-Fi broadband, digital radio/cd player and ipod dock). Full height patio window opens out onto a balcony overlooking the lake. There is one king size bedroom - again with beautiful views - and a well-appointed bathroom (shower over bath, basin and wc). The whole property has a light and stylish holiday feel. Much of the flooring is in oak with fitted carpet to the hall and bedroom. Electric off peak and panel heating keeps the well-insulated interior cosy year-round. Outside: Balcony with fine lake views. Shared gardens. Parking for one medium sized car in named space. Lake 50 yards, village centre half a mile.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.

About the location

AMBLESIDE

Windermere 4 miles; Grasmere 4 mile; Keswick 15 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
