    The cottage was very clean, the heating was not good at all 2 small radiators downstairs, and the radiators in the bedroom were both twice as big as downstairs, the frond door was very badly fitted and the draft though the door let all the heat out, all the heat from downstairs disappeared upstairs, lovely cottage but not suitable for the winter, we returned home at about 6 pm on the Tuesday and there was no water, I went outside to see if anyone was in the other cottages to check if they had ...

    The cottage was very clean, the heating was not good at all 2 small radiators downstairs, and the radiators in the bedroom were both twice as big as downstairs, the frond door was very badly fitted and the draft though the door let all the heat out, all the heat from downstairs disappeared upstairs, lovely cottage but not suitable for the winter, we returned home at about 6 pm on the Tuesday and there was no water, I went outside to see if anyone was in the other cottages to check if they had same problem, was nobody about was not sure weather the heating would work with no water so switched heating of, rang the emergency number that gave me another number, both numbers not unavailable , felt very uncomfortable with no help available, so called my daughter, who tried same numbers and had no luck with them, after we sat in the cold for 3 hours we made the decision to return home 2 days earlier, we are both in our 80 to have no back up to reassure us is not acceptable , no duty of care to your customers, have rented many cottages in the past and there has always been a emergency number in the welcome folder, and as for £50 good will payment that is an insult yours Mrs D wood

Unfortunately, this is out of our control. I can see that the water was reinstated in the early morning, but this was after you had left the property. Jasmine Cottage is a pretty character property nestling quietly within the oldest part of Troutbeck Bridge in a small enclave of character properties dating from the 18th century mid-way between Ambleside and Windermere. The area is very popular with holidaymakers seeking a quiet location well away from passing traffic but with all the main Lake District sights easily to hand. With a well stocked local shop at the bottom of the lane, footpaths from the door up the hill to Troutbeck, and many opportunities to tour by car or bus, you will be well placed to enjoy the Lakes in any season. Accommodation: Part of the charm of this cosy cottage is its size - small but carefully planned to make the most of modern day living whilst retaining the character and feel of a bygone era. You enter the cottage from the back door into the open kitchen/living room which has wooden flooring. The well equipped kitchen leads through to the sitting area (flat screen TV/DVD with Freeview,Plusnet Wi-Fi, CD player/hi-fi and log burning stove). The bathroom is to the back of the cottage (large shower, basin and wc). Upstairs offers two bedrooms - a double with pretty views and a single (room for a cot). Deep set windows and thick stone walls are a real feature. Outside: Room to sit outside the cottage - garden furniture provided. Private parking for one medium car. Small outbuilding 30 yards from the property ideal for storing bikes etc.. Village shop, bus stop and pub within walking distance.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District.
