Spindle Coppice is a beautiful detached character cottage situated approximately three quarters of a mile from Skelwith Bridge and virtually on the Cumbria Way. The cottage has one of the most spectacular views of the Langdale valley and Pikes you will ever see. Set in a walker's paradise - walks from the door include walks to Elterwater, Colwith Force, The Langdale Pikes, Park Fell and Tarn Hows. The Skelwith Bridge Hotel and Chesters Cafe is a twenty minute walk, and other cafes and pubs in Elterwater are a couple of miles away with a well-stocked Co-op at Chapel Stile. More shops, pubs and restaurants are located in Ambleside four miles away. Accommodation: Entrance up several stone steps to the front patio and then into the front door. Dining hall with large table to seat six, log burning stove and windows to the rear. Spacious shaker style kitchen with adjacent utility room and wc. Back door from utility. Large triple aspect lounge with character beams, L-shaped sofa, 58" smart LCD TV with DVD player, free Wi-Fi, log burning stove (logs not provided) and window seat with spectacular views. On the ground floor there is also a separate snug with TV, for use of DVD player only and a double room with en-suite shower, basin and wc - both rooms have beautiful views. Upstairs there are two bedrooms - a master double with en-suite bathroom with bath, basin and wc and a twin. Both rooms have spectacular views. Family bathroom with walk-in shower, basin and wc. Outside: Parking for three cars in private drive. Large patio to the front with garden seating and magnificent views across the valley to the Langdale Pikes. To the rear is a hillside garden on various levels with pond and patio (children should be supervised). Please note: Property has private water supply

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
