Pullwood Bay

The Pullwood Bay estate is located on the quieter, North West shore of Lake Windermere, two miles from Ambleside and within walking distance of the popular Drunken Duck Inn. Our fully-furnished apartments by the lakeside have won the Enjoy England Five Star award for 'exceptional quality of accommodation and customer service' and our woodland cottages on the Pulwood estate offer a pet-friendly, value for money alternative. The property

Aptly named, Deer Corner is one of a small cluster of cottages, located at the entrance to the fifty acre prestigious Pullwood Bay Estate where deer can often be seen roaming. The property has been completely renovated and offers contemporary luxury and excellent facilities which are sure to delight guests in any season. There are miles of enjoyable walks to explore in the immediate area from the door, without the need for a car. Access to the estate's private frontage and jetty on Lake Windermere are only a short stroll down the driveway. Deer Corner's rural setting still offers easy access to Ambleside's shops, pubs and restaurants, approximately two miles away. Ideally situated only half a mile from the famous Drunken Duck Inn, you may wish to take advantage of one of Lakeland's most renowned hostelries. Accommodation: The usual entrance is by the French doors from the patio leading into the light and airy dining kitchen where you can relax over a late breakfast and plan your day. The modern living room features a log burning stove, flat screen smart television with YouView, PVRVD player, ipod dock, Bluetooth digital radio and free Wi-Fi with French doors opening onto the south facing patio. The hallway provides ample hanging space for coats and a boot rack. The comfortable ground floor double bedded room has an adjacent shower room including underfloor heating, a rainfall shower, basin and WC. Upstairs you will find two beautifully designed bedrooms - a master with a king-sized crystal and chrome bedstead with television, and a second room with twin beds. Featuring a modern slipper bath, basin, wc and double sized shower cubicle and under floor heating, the main bathroom provides a relaxing sanctuary after a long day on the fells. Deer Corner has been lavished with care and attention to detail by the owners to create a luxurious home from home experience. Outside: Private parking for 2 cars. About the location

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
