The property

Keldas, in the heart of Ambleside village, takes its name from a lesser known but picturesque minor summit in the Ullswater Valley. The cottage is set in a side lane with all village amenites right on your doorstep. It has been completely renovated internally to provide, what we think, is exceptional accommodation and perfect for a holiday in any season. Guests will enjoy the local area without any need to use the car on a daily basis - make the most of walks for all ages and abilities, take an easy stroll to the lake for cruises and boat hire, sample the excellent cinema and places to eat as well as the lively, welcoming pubs and varied outdoor activities. Accommodation: Inner entrance porch leading through to the open plan and spacious living/dining room with wall mounted feature gas fire, smart TV and Wi-fi. Double width glass doors to the rear outdoor space. Open access from the living room into the smart fitted, galley kitchen with granite worktops. This in turn leads through to the rear shower room (large shower cubicle, wc and hand basin). There are two very comfortable bedrooms upstairs - one with king-size bed to the front of the cottage and a twin or zip/link on request, to the rear. The main house bathroom is on the half landing and has bath with shower over, basin and wc.The owners have furnished the property with style, ensuring a high degree of comfort and with every thought for your holiday enjoyment. The stairs and upper floor have fitted carpets. Downstairs is finished with oak flooring throughout the living area. Parking permit available for use in local car parks. Small rear patio with room to sit outside. Ambleside village centre 50 yards.

About the location

AMBLESIDE

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.

Please note zip & link bed is made as a twin should you wish to be a super king please call the call centre to arrange.
