The property

Forest Cottage is one of 5 cottages at Townson Ground, a 400 year old country estate tucked away between the lake and Grizedale Forest at the north eastern end of Coniston Water. Surrounded by farmland once owned by Beatrix Potter, the location of Forest Cottage is simply superb for everything "Lake District" - from walking up the magnificent "Old Man" of Coniston, cycling in Grizedale forest, boating on the beautiful Coniston Water or simply relaxing in picturesque surroundings. Coniston village is only a mile and a half level walk, where there are cafes, shops and pubs selling the famous "Bluebird" ale. Accommodation: Through the garden gate and down a couple of steps to the front door. Entrance in to open plan kitchen/dining room/living room - a spacious sociable open plan space with character beams, handmade windows, and slate flooring with underfloor heating. Dining area has large table and chairs for lingering family meals whilst the lounge area has comfortable seating grouped around the log burning stove, flat screen TV, and DVD. This truly open-plan living space has all the ingredients of a great holiday where you can cook, eat and chat in cosy surroundings bringing all members of the party together whilst you relax and plan your next busy day. Upstairs there are two bedrooms - a double and a twin, and a high quality family bathroom fully tiled in travertine with bath, separate shower, basin and wc. Forest Cottage has been lovingly restored by the owner who has given the property a real home from home feel, with all the comforts of a modern house and the character and personality of a Lakeland Cottage. We are sure it will be the venue for many delightful holidays in this beautiful setting. Outside: Small grassed area to the front of the cottage with table and chairs, and further patio area to the side of the cottage. Parking for 2 cars in communal parking area next to the cottage. Coniston village amenities approx 1.5 miles (approx 20 mins walk).

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
