The property

Holmdale is in a superb location in the much sought after village of Grasmere, set in a quiet spot on the edge of the village, only a couple of minutes' walk to the amenities. This cottage, set over three floors, has been lovingly furnished and finished in a classic, contemporary style with neutral colours, a host of excellent facilities which combined with superb views is sure to make Holmdale a winner with all guests. Grasmere village is one of the most popular in the Lake District, thanks to its picture postcard looks and strong links with William Wordsworth. High and low level walks are plentiful, along with boating and fishing on Grasmere Lake. The village offers some interesting shops and a variety of places to eat. Accommodation: Front door into ground floor cloakroom, with storage space for outdoor wear, leading into the well equipped kitchen/diner, with under floor heating and beautiful views of the nearby fells from the kitchen window. The dining area is home to a log burner. Through into the comfortable lounge, smart TV with freeview, DVD player, free wi-fi and an open coal fire and off the lounge a delightful conservatory with comfortable settee, displaying views over nearby fields and mountains. On the first floor a light and spacious master king bedroom to the rear, with separate wc and a large bathroom with shower over bath and basin and wc to the front of the property. On the second floor is another spacious king bedroom to the rear of the property and a pretty twin bedroom to the front. All rooms have beautiful views of the surrounding fells. The property is decorated in stylish neutral tones with complementing fabrics and furnishings. Flooring is mostly tiled and wood downstairs with plush carpet on the stairs and in the bedrooms. Gas central heating along with the multi-fuel stoves will ensure Holmdale is warm and cosy whatever the weather. Outside: Private parking for one car immediately to the front of the property with other on street parking available in the village. A nice sized patio area with table and chairs is located just to the side of the conservatory, ideal for enjoying an aperitif and views of the nearby fells at the end of the day. About the location

AMBLESIDE

Windermere 4 miles; Grasmere 4 mile; Keswick 15 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.

Note: Additional parking can be found at the centre of the village on a first-come, first-serve basis
