The property

Ghyll Crest Lodge is a totally unique property sitting within 20 acres of the owners house Ghyll Crest and situated next to its own private lake with access to 8 acres of private woodland to roam around in at your leisure. The property has been designed with the emphasis on quality, style and comfort and providing everything you could need for your self-catering holiday and more. The owner is a well-known artist and many of his abstract originals adorn the walls. Lake Windermere lies only half a mile down the hill and the village of Bowness-on Windermere is approx. 3 miles away. The woodland opens up on to many public footpaths and views of Lake Windermere are only 200 yards from the house. Bowness-on-Windermere is home to an abundance of good restaurants, pubs, shops, a cinema and Lake Cruises. Accommodation : Entrance up the private driveway past the owners house (Ghyll Crest House) and up to Ghyll Crest Lodge where there is parking for two cars outside. The house is designed with the living areas upstairs to take advantage of the beautiful views. Entrance at ground floor level into porch/utility with washer, dryer and room to leave coats and boots. There are three bedrooms downstairs - one with king-size bed, and two with doubles, all have fitted wardrobes and TV's. The kingsize bedroom has luxury fully tiled en-suite with large walk-in shower, basin and wc. Further separate luxurious fully tiled shower room with large walk-in shower, basin, and wc. Upstairs is a superb spacious open plan living room/dining room/kitchen with dual aspect and superb views overlooking the private lake. The living area has a large L-shaped leather sofa, log burning stove, large wall mounted smart LCD TV with Freeview, Blu-ray DVD, free Wi-Fi and patio doors out onto the balcony - an amazing spot to dine alfresco after a busy day exploring. The contemporary sleek dining kitchen in oak veneer with Corian worktops encompasses the dining table and breakfast bar. The kitchen has high quality appliances and is extremely well equipped to make your home cooked meals. Upstairs off the lounge there is a further master en-suite bedroom with king size bed and built in wardrobes. The room is split into two with a half wall with the bed on one side and the large walk-in shower, bath and basin on the other. Separate wc. (Max 6 persons accommodated) Ghyll Crest Lodge really is an individual holiday home which oozes style and quality, and the location and surroundings is nothing short of stunning - a truly special place for your next holiday. Outside : Balcony with table and chairs and steps down to patio area with bench and further steps and slopes down to the private lake and 8 acres of woodland with various paths and access onto public footpaths with views of Lake Windermere. Room to store bikes (arrangement can be made with the owner). Parking for two cars next to the property. Bowness-on-Windermere approx. 3 miles (5 mins drive).

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.
