    - Mrs Frost,

The property

Thomas Fold is a very comfortable traditional cottage built with local materials in 1989. It is centrally situated within easy walking distance of both Lake Windermere and the centre of Ambleside. The cottage is well equipped, cosy and warm, making it an ideal base for both families and couples with two full bathrooms and four good-sized bedrooms (one being on the ground floor). Accommodation: The front door leads into the tiled entrance hall with plenty of space to hang coats and leave muddy boots. There is a good sized sitting/dining room with a wall-mounted 40" Flat-screen LCD TV (Sky TV Package, Sky Sports), mini-hifi, free Wi-Fi broadband access. Patio doors lead onto a large outside balcony with garden furniture ideal for eating out of doors in better weather. The beech-wood kitchen is very well equipped with tiled flooring and a breakfast bar. A door from the kitchen leads to an inner hall with a bathroom (bath with electric shower over, basin and wc) and double bedroom (King-size bed) with LCD TV/DVD. Upstairs are three further bedrooms (two king size and one twin) all with washbasins, LCD TVs, DVDs, iPod docks and built-in furniture. The upstairs bathroom has a bath with power shower over, basin and WC. The property has gas fired central heating, double glazing and good insulation throughout. Outside: There is off road parking for two cars. A gate leads to a lower level patio garden with built-in barbecue. There is further free on-street parking directly across the road if required.

About the location

AMBLESIDE

Windermere 4 miles; Grasmere 4 mile; Keswick 15 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
