The property

The Arthouse is in an enviable location just a two minute walk from the head of Lake Windermere at Waterhead which boasts a choice of places to eat and drink whilst Ambleside centre is just a ten minute walk where you will find an abundance of restaurants, pubs, shops and a cinema. Newly built, the emphasis at The Arthouse is on luxury, style, comfort and providing everything you could possibly need for your self-catering holiday home from home. The owner is a well-known artist, and you will find many of his abstract originals adorning the walls. With so much to do in the area straight from the door, you may never need to use the car - walk to the summit of Fairfield Horseshoe, cruise across Lake Windermere or hire your own boat.....the list is long! Accommodation: Entrance to the front of the house leads into large open plan space encompassing the living room and dining kitchen. The living room offers a high level of comfort and has a dual aspect and a large L-shaped leather sofa positioned around the inset remote controlled living flame gas fire (60" smart TV, Blue-Ray DVD, free Wi-Fi and Bluetooth audio system). Glass doors lead out to the south west facing patio with fountain - a lovely place to enjoy a glass of wine after a long day exploring. The stunning dining kitchen is fully fitted with white hi-gloss units, granite worktops, high quality appliances (TV, Blue-Ray DVD) and a large centre island. The dining table is the main feature - made of white oak and matched with eight white leather dining chairs, a stunning space to enjoy a home cooked meal. The utility room off the kitchen houses further storage along with a washer and dryer and an additional fridge/freezer. Downstairs fully tiled shower room off utility with large rain shower, basin and wc. The whole of the downstairs has a porcelain tiled floor with underfloor heating. The wall adjacent to the stairs is clad in marble and leads up to four beautifully presented bedrooms all with Egyptian cotton bedding, the best quality mattresses and cool air fans. The master bedroom has a double height ceiling with impressive chandelier and houses a super-king size bed, large TV, Blue-Ray DVD and floor to ceiling windows encompassing glass doors and electric blinds leading out on to its own patio area with table and chairs. Fully tiled en-suite with large rain shower, basin and wc. There is a second king-size room with TV and Blue-Ray DVD, a third room with super-king sized bed (can be made as 2 singles on request) with TV and Blue-Ray DVD and a good sized single room with TV and Blue-Ray DVD. Beds can be made with sheets and blankets on request. Fully tiled family bathroom with bath, basin and wc. The owners have certainly made The Arthouse a holiday home for you to remember and want to return to year after year. Outside: Driveway parking for one or two cars, and room to store bikes and maybe a canoe in the garage. There is also some gym equipment available in the garage for guests to use at their own risk. Patio area accessed from the lounge with garden furniture and fountain. Further patio area accessed from the master bedroom with small table and chairs. Lake Windermere is at the end of the lane where you can hire boats, take lake cruises, enjoy various restaurants and relax in the waterfront park.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
