The property

Just out of the centre of Ambleside this delightful and spacious holiday home is formed from the major portion of a modern Lakeland villa and offers single storey accommodation with beautiful views. The excellent location is only a few minutes walk from the lake at Waterhead where you can enjoy cruises or boat hire on England's largest lake. Ambleside boasts a wealth of places to eat and fine local shopping as well as a host of interesting walks for all ages and abilities. Wansfell, Loughrigg Fell and Fairfield can all be tackled without using the car and there are easier rambles to Jenkins Crag or Under Loughrigg where there is also safe cycling. Whatever season of year you choose you will find Lane Head a welcoming place to return to at the end of a busy day. Accommodation: Entrance porch leads through to a stylish fitted kitchen and then on into the inner hall. The sitting room has patio doors to the south facing outside terrace and fine views towards the distant fells (TV, DVD, Wi Fi, living flame gas fire). Separate dining room also with patio doors leads through to the most attractive conservatory with door to terrace. The conservatory is sure to be the focal point of any holiday - blinds offer shade on the sunniest days and there are fine views across the valley to the fells. There are three bedrooms - one double and one twin, each with a range of built-in furniture - plus a further single room. Fully fitted bathroom has bath with shower over, basin and wc. The whole property is comfortable and stylish with a light and sunny feel making the most of its south facing position. Fitted carpets and many personal touches. The owners have thoughtfully provided a selection of CDs, DVDs. An additional entrance door off the main hallway gives access to a second outside entrance which is also used by the other property at Lane Head. Outside: Terraced south facing garden to the front of the house has a sloping lawn and a little stream. Sunny patio area with garden table and chairs. Ample parking for two cars in the drive - please note that the other part of the villa shares the same entrance gate and has its own garden area and parking. Village shops and lake approx half a mile in opposite directions.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
