The property

This beautifully converted Hayloft at Sunny Brow farm offers contemporary living with character in abundance, and is set in the heart of extensive woodland, forests and fields, enabling you to take in the true feel of country living. Only two thirds of a mile from the famous Drunken Duck pub, and only a couple of miles drive to Ambleside. With fell walking and mountains straight from the door and Lake Windermere at Waterhead you will be spoiled for choice. Sunny Brow Farm is comfortably located between Ambleside and Hawkshead both just a 5 minute drive. Holistic therapies, yoga and relaxing massage sessions are available to book onsite to add that extra special touch to your holiday. Sunny Brow's wholesome cuisine is available upon request for breakfast and dinner. Accommodation: Enter the property via a couple of stone steps and straight into the impressive open plan lounge/kitchen/dining room with double height beamed ceiling. The room is split into defined areas with the well equipped kitchen and dining area to one side of the room and the living area with large comfortable sofa and log burner to the opposite side. Lounge has TV with built-in DVD, Freeview and free Wi-Fi. One bedroom on this level with zip and link super-king sized bed (can be twin on request) en-suite with twin basins, large shower, and wc. Stairs from the lounge lead up to a second bedroom with sloping roofline and zip and link super-king sized bed (can be twin on request). Adjacent shower room with corner shower, basin and wc. Oak flooring throughout the property and central heating provided from a log fuelled bio mass boiler. Outdoors: The property can be accessed from the main car park and up past the main house. Continue past the communal patio area and The Hayloft can be found to the rear of the large barn building. The patio area with garden furniture is ideal for morning coffees or al-fresco dining whilst the woodland area offers peace and tranquillity. Wildlife including deer and a variety of birds can be spotted in the surrounding fields and forests. Private parking for two cars.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
