    “Kitchen was inadequately equipped eg no serving spoons,dessert spoons,no fish slice,no paring knife .”

    Not enough crockery.Did not use extractor fan as too noisy.

Accommodation: Enter the property via a few stone steps and straight into the well-equipped fully fitted modern kitchen with lounge at the far end of the room with large comfortable sofa, dining table and chairs, TV with freeview, DVD, free Wi-Fi and log burning stove. Stairs lead down to the spacious bedroom with king-size bed and luxury en-suite with twin basins, large shower and wc. Wood flooring throughout the property and central heating provided from a log fuelled biomass boiler. Holistic therapies, yoga and relaxing massage sessions are available to book onsite to add that extra special touch to your holiday. Sunny Brow's wholesome cuisine is available upon request for breakfast and evening meal. Outdoors: The property can be accessed from the main car park and up past the main house. Continue past the communal patio area and Bracken Barn is on the far right at the end of the building. The patio area with garden furniture is ideal for morning coffees or al fresco dining whilst the woodland area offers peace and tranquillity. Wildlife including deer and a variety of birds can be spotted in the surrounding fields and forests. Washing and drying services available. Private parking for one car. Ambleside village approx 4 minute drive. Drunken Duck pub approx 15-20 mins walk.

The picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Visitors can wander the wealth of tiny alleyways, thoroughfares, archways and courtyards between the whitewashed 17th century houses. There are many pleasant inns, teashops, guest houses and gift shops in the village, as well as the Beatrix Potter Gallery, which houses an annually changing exhibition of the famous author’s illustrations and stories. The other famous Hawkshead enthusiast, William Wordsworth, attended the Old Grammar School in 1779-87, which still stands today, and you can visit the building where the Lakeland poet developed his love of the form, and even see the desk into which he scratched his name as a small boy! Newby Bridge is ten miles away and offers attractions such as the Aquarium of the Lakes and Windermere Lake Cruises, sailing daily between Ambleside, Bowness and Lakeside. With stunning scenery and numerous attractions within easy touring distance, Hawkshead is in an ideal location at any time of the year.
