Tucked away in a quiet hidden corner by sloping fields up from the centre of Bowness, Swallow's Nest is a pretty Lakeland stone cottage in a short terrace dating back to 1895. Perfect for couples and small families looking for the combination of a peaceful retreat, yet within a 5 minute (steep) walk of the village centre. The Dales Way passes close by the cottage, and the summit of Brant Fell is a short walk up from the cottage with superb Lake Views to be had along the way. Cruises and boat hire on Lake Windermere are only a short stroll away. Swallow's Nest offers stylish, comfortable accommodation at any time of the year. Accommodation: Entrance in to country oak style dining kitchen where there is space to hang coats and leave muddy boots. Cosy lounge with comfy sofa, optiflame electric stove, smart TV, DVD, Bluetooth speaker, free Wi-Fi and back door to garden. Upstairs there are two bedrooms - master with king size bed to rear of the property with views towards Claife Heights beyond Lake Windermere and a cosy single room to the front. Contemporary family bathroom with small sized bath with mains shower over, basin and wc. The cottage has been tastefully furnished in a modern cottage style with carefully chosen colours and fabrics, making the cottage feel like home from home. Fitted carpets in all main rooms, gas central heating and double glazing make the property cosy in all seasons. Outside: Rear garden with table and chairs - a great place to unwind after a long day sightseeing or walking the fells. Private parking for two cars in named spaces. Bowness village centre and Lake Windermere 5 minute walk downhill. Note: Cot can only be accommodated in the main bedroom.

The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, cinema, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Old Laundry Theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is three miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away. There is also a variety of watersports on offer for the more energetic at marine centres along the lake.
