“Lovely little cottage that was perfect for two of us plus our small dog.”

Located in a quiet road, approximately 10 mins walk from pubs, shops, bars and restaurants. Cottage was immaculate and was furnished and decorated very tastefully. Designated parking space available across from the property was ideal. Strong WiFi signal available and fully equipped kitchen that included washer, drier, dishwasher. I wouldn't hesitate to book this property if staying in the area again.

“We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay.”

This compact cottage offers an open plan kitchen, living room with a small dining table for 2 which was sufficient. The kitchen has an oven and gas hob, under counter fridge, slimline dish washer and washing machine/drier, kettle and microwave. Enough storage for any food you bring whether its in the cupboards or fridge. In the living room, there is a large 55 inch TV and 2 seater sofa. The bedroom has an ensuite with a sink and bath with shower, the bed is a small double but it's the biggest size I think that could possibly fit in there, comfortable though! Overall the property is cosy, clean and appears to be well maintained. The only downside I have were the TV channels weren't programmed properly and the router wasn't working when we arrived. I don't believe anything can be done about the TV programming as when you rescan it does the same thing (multiple versions of the same channel(s)), but I did enquire about the router as we needed internet. This was replaced first thing on Monday the day before we left, while we were out and was working normally for the rest of our time, this was appreciated. Overall I would recommend staying here, it's a 10 minute walk through some sheep fields into Hawkshead and is a quiet peaceful area.

The exterior of this property is finished in a classic Lakeland style, but once you go inside, you'll be blown away by its chic interior, which includes a glass wall that lets in a tonne of natural light. Oak floors, beams, and vaulted ceiling contrast with soft, deeply padded furniture and the wood-burning stove, which is ideal for chilly nights in. The modern kitchen will satisfy those who want to experiment, and the raised patio with a view of the lake is a terrific spot to unwind. When sleep is necessary, a spacious bathroom and a double bedroom are ready for you. A short distance away is the picture-perfect village of Hawkshead, which has a variety of excellent restaurants and, for those with a feeling of adventure, "Go Ape" in nearby Grizedale. The picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Visitors can wander the wealth of tiny alleyways, thoroughfares, archways and courtyards between the whitewashed 17th century houses. There are many pleasant inns, teashops, guest houses and gift shops in the village, as well as the Beatrix Potter Gallery, which houses an annually changing exhibition of the famous author’s illustrations and stories. The other famous Hawkshead enthusiast, William Wordsworth, attended the Old Grammar School in 1779-87, which still stands today, and you can visit the building where the Lakeland poet developed his love of the form, and even see the desk into which he scratched his name as a small boy!
