However the off street parking was completely inaccessible and there wasn’t any local parking near the cottage. As parking was a key factor in choosing accommodation, this was very disappointing.

After a 6hr drive, arriving at your accommodation which you had selected for off street parking to find that you could not access was a real sour note. To have the same experience when trying to vacate the property took the shine off what would have otherwise been a lovely holiday.
On the parking, even if there had not been rubbish bins and rubbish bags blocking the entrance or other cars parked up to the entrance thereby removing any chance of turning into the space, the space is so small that only a small town car could access not a large family car.
