Helvellyn is a delightful apartment on the first floor of Beck Allans, an imposing stone-built residence, dating back to 1850, set in its own grounds in a quiet position in the centre of Grasmere. The apartment is one of four in the building and is an ideal base for a couple wanting to explore the Lake District as well as having all the village amenities on the doorstep. Grasmere is one of the most popular villages in The Lake District and has something for everyone, with an excellent selection of low and high level walks from the door, boating and fishing on the lake and interesting shops and eateries including the famous Grasmere Gingerbread. Accommodation: Entrance into communal area with flight of stairs up to Helvellyn. Enter the apartment into the cosy lounge/kitchen/dining area with large TV with Freeview, DVD, log burner and large window overlooking the garden. Double bedroom with bathroom off and down a couple of steps (bath with mains shower over, basin and wc). Gas central heating and hot water make the apartment cosy in all seasons. Outside: Beautiful shared gardens surround Beck Allans laid to lawn with mature trees and shrubs and garden seating. Allocated parking space for the apartments are situated in front of the house. Note: Sorry no room for cot or high chair.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
