    “Gorgeous property in tranquil surroundings with a wide range of birds that visit the bird feeders on the balcony adjoining the first floor lounge and dining room throughout the day - we came equipped with bird food but soon had to re-stock.”

    Also saw red squirrels on the lawn but didn't manage to spot the deer and badgers that other guests have seen. Property is surrounded for the most part by mature trees but some are a little too tall to see the views towards Helm Crag and Silver Howe. Leaves were starting to change to autumn colours during our visit so very pretty. Propery is both very well equipped and maintained with a quality wood burner (fuel included), that was welcome at the end of wet days. Spacious rooms with plenty of ...

Spacious rooms with plenty of cupboard space in bedrooms and kitchen - unusual for a holiday cottage. Beds were very comfortable and property was very clean throughout. Conveniently located for Grasmere with easy access to rest of the Lakes. Local pub The Swan is only a 5 minute walk and served excellent food in hearty portions. We noticed a neighbouring property received an Asda delivery which is useful to know. The large garage with utility room is very handy especially to store wet walking gear. Our 4-5 month old grandson on his first holiday fully recommends Heronsyde. Thank you to the owners for a wonderful homely property.
