“Lovely, clean and comfortable cottage in tranquil and remote location, 30 mins from the Central Lakes.”

Walking, rivers and a Tarn on your doorstep and a pub 30 mins walk away with a good menu.

One Town End welcomes guests into a peaceful retreat, surrounded by scenes of imposing hills and luscious countryside, starting with a lovely enclosed front patio where you can take in the quiet settings either way a morning coffee or evening tipple. Kick back and relax for an evening inside, enjoying the unique interior filled with character through oak beams and exposed stone walls in the snug sitting room, a lovely spot to curl up with a good book in front of the woodburning stove, or delight in a family film night. Resting behind is an amply-equipped kitchen/diner, filled with a range of self-catering essentials, as well as a sociable dining table where meals can be enjoyed together. Continuing to impress is the ground-floor cloakroom, benefiting from a basin, WC and a washing machine. Retreat to the first floor to unpack in one of the beautiful bedrooms, comprising a king-size, another king-size with zip/link features and a further twin, all with ample storage and access to the shared bathroom for a luxurious bubble bath or brisk shower. Explore your surroundings and see what Mosedale has to offer, a sleepy hamlet where you can step out for leisurely rambles alongside scenes of nature over to the striking Carrock Fell for a more challenging hike. A favourite walk from the doorstep is to Bowscale Tarn, immortalised by William Wordsworth. There is an excellent farm shop at Cocklakes and also nearby is a pub (the Mill Inn) in Mungrisdale. More extensive local amenities await at Hesket Newmarket, a welcoming village which boasts a fantastic village shop where you can stock up on food, and a traditional Cumbrian pub with a great choice of ales and pub grub, alternatively, the nearby village of Threlkeld has an even wider range of amenities to keep you busy and well fed throughout your stay. Explore the exciting market town of Keswick, home to the Derwent Pencil Museum, Theatre by the Lake, Keswick Museum, and Puzzling Place optical illusion experience, whilst the calming Derwentwater lake rests close by, where you can hop on a romantic boat cruise along sparkling waters or try your luck at watersports. Discover popular Lake District attractions in the area such as the award-winning Aquarium of the Lakes, Penrith town centre, Hadrian's Wall, Ullswater lake and the Eden Valley, or put on your walking boots and delight in one of the challenging walking trails at Castlerigg Stone Circle, Keswick Railway Path, and the Cumbrian Way. Why not visit the Cumbrian capital city of Carlisle for a fun-filled day of history at the ancient castle and selection of museums, alternatively, find even more adventurous fun at the Yorkshire Dales National Park further afield. Don't miss out on a peaceful getaway at One Town End.
