    “Great location.”

    Only downside is the parking. Not the owners fault I know and not the end of the world in the big scheme of things. The sooner the Council see sense and reverse the decision the better. Other than that this place is ideal for all our needs in Keswick and has been a regular place to stay for the last 5-6 years.

The property

High Corner will be perfect for couples seeking a romantic retreat or those with older children, in the vibrant market town of Keswick. The cottage takes its name from the raised front garden patio, overlooking the hustle and bustle of everyday life in the centre of this historical Lake District town. At the start of the cobbled pedestrianized walk way, limited traffic will pass allowing guests to enjoy this stylishly decorated Lake District property. All the facilities and attractions of Keswick are at your fingertips. Take a cruise on Derwentwater, or hire your own boat (in season) and take in the beautiful mountainous views. As a holiday home this cottage will be a popular base to appreciate the National Park in any season. Accommodation: The property is reached through a large traditional black gate and up eight steps onto the patio. Through the front door you are welcomed by an array of 'times gone by', framed Lakeland photographs, lining the stair case. The large living/dining room with (3D, Smart TV, Wi-Fi), has an abundance of natural light from the large front window. The modern stylish furnishings compliment the character of the property, with wood and slate floors throughout the downstairs. Fitted kitchen with a good range of appliances plus a worktop USB port. Upstairs there are two bedrooms both decorated to a high standard in a contemporary boutique style. The twin bedroom to the front of the property offers views of Keswick town and a double (King-sized bed) is to the rear next to a family bathroom (walk in shower, WC and basin). Outside: Behind the house is bike storage for two bikes accessed from the front of the house or the kitchen. The front of the cottage boasts a pretty walled patio, with wrought iron seating for four. Keswick centre 20 yards, lake 10 mins walk. Note: Sorry no children under 8 years. There is no parking available at this property. Parking is in the nearby local car park, charges will apply. Alternatively the owners are happy for you to use the parking outside their home in STANGER STREET CA12 5JX which is a 5-6 min walk from High Corner.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
