On the outskirts of Keswick, in the serene Burnside Park, lies this well-presented wooden lodge. Robin's Nest, set in the stunning Lake District countryside, is a peaceful retreat for couples looking for an outdoor experience. Discover an off-road parking space near to the home when you arrive and take a moment to enjoy the fresh Lake District breeze before entering. Spend your free time in the open-plan living room, which features a leather sofa and armchair in front of the electric fireplace, as well as a TV to watch your favourite shows. Dust off those cookbooks and impress in the kitchen, which includes an electric oven and stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and even a washer/dryer, so you can quickly wash your clothing. Through the patio doors, you'll access the decking area, which is furnished with a set of outdoor furniture where you can enjoy alfresco dining or simply a cool beverage on a hot day. After a refreshing shower, get ready for the night ahead by slipping into the double bed and daydreaming about your next journey. Walking trails, including the majestic Skiddaw, are available just outside the door for anyone feeling active. Visit the local stores and restaurants, as well as some wonderful parks and even the Pencil Museum, if you venture into Keswick. Derwentwater, as well as Ullswater and the Aira Force Waterfall, are worth a visit for additional spectacular scenery, providing the ideal backdrop for nature watching. Canoeing and kayaking are available at the Keswick Adventure Centre, while those looking for a more relaxing afternoon can enjoy a picnic near Friars Crag or a hearty lunch at a local pub. The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
