    “Little Thwaite was perfect for us.”

    Probably the only thing we would have like were more garden loungers or a comfortable table and chairs outdoors two loungers for six occupants is insufficient as the wooden bench/table is very uncomfortable and we were blessed with beautiful weather. Unfortunately due to a bereavement only two of our party visited so it wasn’t an issue for us.

The property

Littlethwaite is a lovely spacious detached house in an ideal location just on the outskirts of Keswick town but within walking distance of all amenities. The property has been refurbished to provide a stylish and comfortable holiday home for couples or a family in any season. The house is in an enviable south facing position with panoramic views of the Borrowdale and Newlands Valleys from the sunny south facing garden. There is some fine walking straight from the door including the high tops of the Skiddaw range or a good ramble takes you to the summit Latrigg. Accommodation: Entrance from the side of the property into small hall area with space to hang coats with handy wc and basin. Kitchen/diner with a good range of units and appliances and dining table to seat six. Games room adjacent to kitchen with pool table, games console with additional television and a selection of board games.Spacious lounge with flat screen TV with freeview, DVD, open fire, free Wi-Fi and panoramic fell views. Downstairs there are two bedrooms - one super-king size room with panoramic fell views and one twin room and there is a large family bathroom with separate shower, bath, wc and basin and a second smaller shower room with basin and wc. There is a third spacious dormer style bedroom accessed up a flight of stairs from the front hallway. Furnishing and decor throughout are stylish and tastefully chosen to create a relaxed and homely atmosphere. Oil central heating makes the property cosy in any season. Outside: Beautiful garden terraced over three levels with panoramic views of Borrowdale and Newlands valley and seating to the upper level. Garage for secure storage of bikes and canoes. Parking for one car in the drive with further parking for one or two cars in the lay-by immediately outside the front of the house.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
