    “Only one bin liner provided.”

No dish cloth for wiping down work surfaces and no washing up brush. We had to purchase these and bin liners ourselves. The listing said fuel provided and whilst I accept this might not include wood for wood burner for whole stay there wasn’t even one nights wood for arrival night and no firefighters. No info on where to buy wood or where to eat out. Sofa and chairs shabby and need a clean. By the way house was put on market with local estate agent Monday of our stay. No inconvenience to us ...

No info on where to buy wood or where to eat out. Sofa and chairs shabby and need a clean. By the way house was put on market with local estate agent Monday of our stay. No inconvenience to us but worth noting as may explain slight sense on our part that a refresh of this accommodation is needed and ‘consumables’ had been cut back. On a positive note good location good views. Beds were very comfortable. We’ve stayed with you before and may do so again, just not at this accommodation. Happy to discuss this feedback.

The property

The cottage ia a very popular property which has been beautifully refurbished whilst retaining its character feel. Set by the road down into Keswick it offers a most convenient base from which to explore the whole of the National Park. With Keswick centre only a mile away guests can enjoy quality shopping, live theatre, cinema, restaurants and pubs. The area is a walkers' delight and if you use the lake launches and the local bus services the permutations are endless. Don't miss a visit to Castlerigg Stone Circle and allow time to take in the challenge of Skiddaw, which overlooks the town and is one of the area's most popular high peaks. Accommodation: This is a topsy-turvey cottage with its front door entrance into the hallway where you leave your outdoor gear. The two bedrooms are on the ground floor to the rear of the cottage...a double with its own en-suite (basin and wc), and a twin, together with the house bathroom (bath, separate shower, basin and wc). The central staircase takes you up to the cosy and comfortable open-plan living/dining/kitchen (wood burning stove, TV, wi-fi broadband & radio/cassette player). The three windows give views to the rear across the town to the fells beyond including Latrigg and Blencathra and even a glimpse of the Derwentwater. The property is tastefully decorated throughout, with a fitted kitchen, fitted carpets and comfy seating, and stone-type flooring to the entrance hall. Comfortable and cosy in all seasons it will surely be a welcoming base to return to at the end of a busy day. Outside: Small patio/garden area with room to eat out of doors, including a bench and brick built BBQ. Parking for two cars. Pub half a mile and Keswick town centre 1 mile

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
