    “We had a great week here.”

    House was clean, airy, yet cosy and a good size. Great to have the garden too with having the dog with us. Location was good too. Quiet and only a 10 min walk into into centre of town. We would happily return here.

The property

This cosy modern cottage is located within easy walking distance of Keswick town centre and is also very close to the River Greta, which you can hear babbling away whilst sitting in the rear garden. The cottage has been lovingly refurbished by the owners who regularly visit, which ensures this really is a home from home. Keswick has so much to offer - walks from the door for any age or ability, boat trips on Derwentwater, cinema, live theatre, two lovely parks offering bowls, tennis and putting and various museums and galleries. There are interesting shops, restaurants and pubs to enjoy and Keswick hosts many festivals which makes it a year round destination. Accommodation: Entrance into small hallway with space for coats and boots. Doorway through to open plan lounge/dining area with Smart TV, DVD, CD hi-fi, free wi-fi, living flame gas fire in feature surround and views over the garden. Completely refitted kitchen including new dishwasher, cooker, electric hob replacing gas hob, new extractor hood and new fridge/freezer. Door leads from lounge/diner to garden. Upstairs there are two pretty bedrooms - one twin and one double, both with views over the garden. The shower room is decorated in a retro baroque style and has a large shower, basin and wc. The whole house has been tastefully decorated with colours accented by the soft furnishings. Fitted carpets, modern electric heating and double glazing throughout. Outside: Patio and landscaped garden to the rear with substantial fence and furniture - ideal for eating out of doors with the sound of the river to keep you company. Parking spaces available in the cul-de-sac area outside the property. Keswick town centre less than half a mile.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
