“Love staying at sygnet cottage its in a lovely position looking out to beautiful views , we struggled with the lock on the front door it doesn't turn very well it took a while to get in most of the time so started to use the back door instead .”

The only gripe inside is that there was only 1 bin liner , and 1 cloth to clean all the surfaces in kitchen & bathrooms so we had to go out and purchase some along with antibacterial bacterial spray & toilet cleaner could also do with a light bulb outside we would have replaced it ourselves but there wasn't one . Saying all this we would still go back and stay in sygnet it's so peaceful and we love the area .

The property

Cygnet Cottage has been recently renovated and prepared for holiday use. It lies in a most attractive rural setting on the edge of Thornthwaite village adjacent to the former Swan Hotel, which has been converted to a number of exclusive properties - set back behind a broad grassy area and with views to back and front. There are many walks to be enjoyed in the surrounding area, the coast-to-coast cycleway passes the door and bird lovers will particularly relish the chance to see the ospreys which nest nearby. Good restaurants in the area include the Pheasant at Bassenthwaite and Ivy House in Braithwaite whilst Keswick offers evening theatre, cinema and all main shopping. Accommodation: This is a topsy-turvey cottage entered at the front into a ground floor hallway. Two ground floor bedrooms - one double (king-sized) en-suite with spa bath, shower, basin and wc, and one twin with second separate three piece shower room. The upstairs is a stylish open plan area - stairs rise into the dining/kitchen which is all fitted in light woods. The comfortable sitting area has electric log stove, TV with Sky Plus basic entertainment package, DVD/Blu-ray and radio/CD player, X-box and games andfree wi-fi. A lovely feature of the upstairs is the outside rear balcony area accessed by a door from the sitting room - garden table and chairs create an ideal place to eat out of doors. The cottage also benefits from extensive shared landscape gardens to the rear of the Swan. Outside: In addition to the rear balcony there is ample parking for two cars. Village shop and pubs in Braithwaite approx 1.5 miles.

Please note: Due to safety reasons, no electric cars are to be charged at the property.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
