Lakes Alive is back and its bigger and better
A free festival of contemporary arts and making in and around Kendal the gateway to the Lake District
We are going to showcase below a few of the things you can do throughout the weekend, you are likely to experience unique art in a unique landscape so come and explore Kendal as you have never seen it before
Chorus Ray Lee
A monumental installation of giant kinetic sculptures and celestial brings together 80+ drummers in a colossal meeting of the elements can be found at Kendal Castle

Virtual Reality Choir National Trust, University of York
Sing with a massed choir on the summit of Great Gable, without walking a step. Using virtual reality technology by transported to sing with the choir who were recorded on the iconic summit as part of the Fellowship project.

Halo Gem & Michael Davis
Trigged by movement, to create ever changing patterns of light and sound, this mesmerising new installation invites you to dance play. Created by musician and inventor Michael Davis, 12 musical sculptures stand over 3 meters tall between the trees, inviting audiences to touch, explore and experiment in this ethereal glen.

Woodland French & Motterhead
Cushioned by soil and surrounded by leaf litter, listen to the story of the bodys afterlife and process of decay in the woodland, being subsumed by the earth, as it merges into the environment over.
Booking required via www.lakesalive.co.uk: tickets Free. Hourly on the hour, last slot 6.00pm. Suitable for age 14+

All at Sea – Acrojou
A boat rowing through the tides of the world around us, a lone boatman traverses a vast ocean of memory and past hope, accompanied by his own personal storm. Combines melancholic humour, in a moving, atmospheric row about installations.
