In this instalment of how the staff at Heart of the Lakes – Lake District Cottages explore the Lake District, we are going to take a look at how partner Sue Jackson would explore the Lake District National Park.

What’s the best thing about the Lake District?

Breath taking views round every corner– whatever the time of year the scenery is idyllic – snow on the tops in winter; magnolias, daffodils, bluebells and scampering lambs in spring, long summer evenings with beautiful sunsets and – of course – those glorious autumn colours.

If you had a few hours to spare in the Lake District what would you do?

A couple of hours is not really long enough to see much but a ride on the open top bus could give you a taste of what the Lake District is all about- or how about a visit to the famous Tarn Hows to enjoy the stunning scenery as you stroll round the lake, or enjoy a walk round Rydal Water taking in the coffin trail and Loughrigg Terrace.

What is your favourite place to capture the Lake District at its best.
