Stunningly situated on the sheltered lower slopes of Skiddaw Fell, Underscar enjoys breathtaking views over Derwent Water, down the Borrowdale Valley and far across the fells to Scafell Pike.

The Underscar estate extends to 40 glorious acres of woodland walks and formal gardens with a sunny, southerly aspect, bordered by specimen trees and rare Himalayan Rhododendrons.

This spectacular setting, serene and unspoilt, is surely the crowning glory of the Lakes - a place where natural energies converge in perfect harmony.

Some of the properties have terraces, with a garden table and chairs provided, and others have balconies from which to enjoy the spectacular scenery. Two properties (Hindscarth and Great Gable) do not have any outside seating. The health spa, 'Oxleys', is reached via a few steps through the gardens.

The grounds are a haven for wildlife, including roe deer and red squirrels - indeed you may be fortunate to see the red squirrels that come to feed in the gardens.
