This delightful former Victorian Carriage House has been architect designed and carefully planned with every thought for your holiday comfort. Part of Northwood, the property is set amid a cluster of cottages, just above the small Lakeland town of Windermere between Windermere and Troutbeck. There are walks from the door to Orrest Head, St Catherine's Wood, Troutbeck, Miller Ground and Holehird Gardens.

The Carriage House offers excellent facilities for an extended family or for a number of couples wishing to stay together - it is cosy and warm and sure to be popular in any season. Reached up a shared access lane set well back from the road - the feeling is peaceful and the property has the use of part of the original walled garden - a sheltered place for sitting out of doors and a real sun-trap in summer.

Accommodation: The property is entered beneath a glazed Victorian carriage wash - great for loading and unloading. Ground floor entrance into the hallway leading to three bedrooms. At the end of the hallway stairs lead to the upper floor, which is mostly open plan. Spacious kitchen has dining area at one end and leads through a wide archway up a single step into the main living room (TV, video, CD/tape/radio, living flame gas stove). French windows lead to the rear garden at this level.

There is one bedroom upstairs - an interesting en-suite double room having corner bath with hand-held shower and basin, plus a separate wc and basin. The three ground floor bedrooms are; one twin (shower, basin and wc), a further room with zip-link king/twin which can be arranged as requested (shower, basin and wc) and one king-sized double (bath, shower over, basin and wc). All the bedrooms have TV and DVD or video. Useful separate laundry/drying room.

The house has a good feeling of space and light with ample room for relaxation, comfortable furnishings and a mix of fitted carpets and some stripped pine floors with rugs. Lots of personal touches include games, books and videos which add to the holiday feel.

Outside: Enclosed garden area to the rear of the property in the old walled garden where a barbecue is provided and garden table and chairs. Second sitting out area to the front of the house has a huge stone slab table with seating. Ample parking and bike storage available.
