Ullswater Lake & the Patterdale Valley

The Patterdale Valley lies to the north side of the Kirkstone Pass and includes Brotherswater and Ullswater Lakes.

Nearby is the area called Hartsop, a place to 'get away from it all' and to enjoy the peace of the Lake District hills - a marvellous centre for walking and touring with one of the most beautiful lakes (Ullswater) nearby in the National Park.

There are shops and post offices in Patterdale and Glenridding and it is only a few miles drive over the Kirkstone Pass to Ambleside. There are lake cruises on Ullswater and many beautiful walks in the area.

People who know the Lake District choose this area for its excellent scenery and the air of peacefulness, even in the busy seasons of the year.
