Quietly situated in the tiny hamlet of Matterdale End, Mistal Cottage has a welcoming cottage feel and makes a perfect Lakeland retreat at any time of the year.

Ullswater Lake, with its dramatic mountain scenery, is close by for lake cruises, quiet water sports - dinghy sailing, canoeing, fishing etc. and walks in beautiful scenery. The magnificent waterfalls of Aira Force are well worth a visit. There are good walks from the door and major tops, including Helvellyn and Blencathra can be tackled within easy driving distance.

Accommodation: Mistal Cottage has been tastefully converted from a three hundred year old Lakeland stone barn into a cosy character cottage. There are exposed beams, oak lintels and latch doors complemented by the modern advantages of central heating and double glazing. Small hallway with exposed beams and under stairs storage. Door through to open style living/dining room with oak fitted kitchen at one end. Exposed beams and attractive windows (Satellite Freeview TV, DVD, CD/radio/cassette). Door to pretty south facing patio area.

Upstairs are two bedrooms - a very pretty double with view down the valley and a good single. Good bathroom - bath with shower over, basin and wc. Upstairs rooms all have oak lintels. Furnishings and fittings are to a high standard with leather settees, fitted carpets throughout and lots of attention to detail.

Outside: Pretty garden patio with garden table and chairs and views across open countryside. Parking for one car outside the cottage. Good pubs for food in the area - nearest is one mile.
