Many people find that the Lake District is the best part of England for a whole range of outdoor activities - from hiking up one of the highest hills, Scafell Pike, to a stroll around a lake for the less energetic! The quieter lakes such as Buttermere and Crummock Water are away from the main hustle and bustle of tourist attractions. However, the Lake District is much more than just a walkers' paradise... with hundreds of attractions to visit during your stay you will be spoilt for choice.
Here are just a small handful of activities that we, at Heart of the Lakes, and many of our visitors have enjoyed -
And dont forget the wealth of opportunities for drinking and eating! From quaint country pubs to livelier town theme bars, from restaurants specialising in locally produced food to an array of Indian, Chinese and Italian eating establishments, we are sure you will find something to suit all palates.
All in all, there is something for everyone in The Lake District. With so much variety and so many interesting things to do - it's difficult to imagine ever being bored. Tired maybe but definitely not bored!!
