The surrounding area is truly beautiful with fine walking to be enjoyed on the high fells around Buttermere and Crummock. Whinlatter Forest Park is excellent for bike trails, orienteering and osprey viewing whilst nearby Cockermouth was the birthplace of William Wordsworth. The village has a good pub and a small shop for daily needs. Fine dining can be enjoyed at Winder Hall within walking distance just beyond the pub.
Accommodation: Central front door entrance leads into the sitting room (TV, DVD and log burning stove) and separate dining room, both with original fireplaces. Small rear hallway accesses the newly fitted kitchen and separate utility laundry room with downstairs wc and basin. Inner door from just off the kitchen to the garage and door to back garden.
The central staircase leads to the first floor where there are three good bedrooms - a spacious double with king-size bed, original fireplace and en-suite shower and basin, a twin room and a single. Family bathroom has bath with shower over, basin and wc.
The property has been newly presented throughout - carefully chosen fabrics and furnishings and newly installed central heating with some stripped floors, others with fitted carpets. Character features have been retained including the spice cupboard and bread oven in the sitting room. There are views from the upstairs front windows over the fields to the fells beyond.
