This fine detached Lakeland farmhouse is set in an enviable position on the south facing lower slopes of Blencathra in a quiet rural setting just outside the village of Threlkeld. The location is perfect for those who wish to walk and explore the surrounding valleys and fells and will make a delightful place in which to simply relax and enjoy the beauties of nature all around. Footpaths cross the fell side behind the property and lead you directly onto Blencathra or up into the valley below Skiddaw. The property is reached up a tree lined track through a five-barred gate from the lane.
Threlkeld has two well known pubs - the Horse and Farrier being the closest and The Salutation at the other end of the village and there is excellent local shopping in Keswick together with theatre, cinema and lake cruises. Keswick Golf Club is less than a mile away and welcomes visitors.
Accommodation: Entrance into the farmhouse breakfast kitchen which has doors off into the main dining room (couple of steps down) and also into a ground floor lounge (TV, DVD, hi-fi and open fire). Door to garden. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor. A door from the dining room leads into a master king double en-suite with shower, basin and wc whilst a good sized twin room is accessed separately off the kitchen.
Stairs from the lounge lead to the first floor where you find the spacious main sitting room with its log burning stove and patio door out onto a rear balcony with views of Blencathra. The vaulted ceiling is supported by cruck beams. (TV, DVD and hi-fi). There are three bedrooms on this floor, a double, a twin and a single, together with a family bathroom having bath, separate shower, basin and wc. All main windows have views to the surrounding fields and fells. Laundry and drying facilities and freezer are located in a separate utility room accessed just outside the kitchen.
Ings has been furnished with your holiday comfort in mind and offers spacious accommodation for either an extended family or a number of couples wishing to stay together.
Outside: Ample parking in the driveway. South facing garden area to the front of the property is mainly of grass with mature trees and shrubs. Stunning views over to St. John's in the Vale. Walks from the door are accessed through a gate onto the sheep grazed fell side. Easy safe access to cycle track into Keswick via Leisure Centre. Shed available for storage of bikes.
